Art Auction App

2022年

This application is a sample design created as part of the Google certification program.

This auction app allows you to participate in art auctions with ease. It implements a UI that can be easily used by young people who are interested in art but have difficulty getting their hands on it, thereby expanding the base of art auctions.

My role

UX designer designing this app from conception to delivery

Responsibilities

Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs

Project goal

Design it so that people can easily view the artworks and bid on them smoothly.

Auctions are not familiar to younger generations now.

Persona

路上の若い女性

Persona's name is Rena. she is studying oil painting at university.

She would like to save up a little money to decorate her room with art, but she wants to examine what kind of works are available and choose the best one.

Research

We conducted interviews with target users.

The target audience is assumed to be young people living in the city center, with museums nearby, and who are highly interested in art.

Experience

The psychological barrier is high because they have never participated in an auction in the first place.

Knowledge

They are interested in art, but they don't have a deep knowledge of it.

Search

Since they don't have a specific favorite artist in mind, they don't have a conduit to get to my favorite works.

Sketches & Wireframes

Based on my research, I developed a rough draft of the design.

Usability study

オンライン調査

2 rounds of usability studies

Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.

Mock up

I created the final design based on the Usability study.

The final high-fidelity prototype presented cleaner user flows for searching and bidding an artwork.

Takeaways
Next steps
Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.
We would like to conduct research not only on the target users of this project, but also on people who are familiar with NFT and have advanced IT knowledge.
